Una de las cosas que más me gusta de ser mujer es cuánto disfruto de mí. Me gusta reafirmar con ganas y sin reparos mi feminidad y todo lo que me permito ser a través de ella. Me gusta sentirme plena y segura en mi cuerpo.
Pero esa soy yo, que me resbalan las opiniones de otros y los prejuicios de todos. Lamentablemente, esa no es la realidad de tantas otras mujeres. La cultura machista en la que crecimos no ve con buenos ojos la libertad y el placer de una mujer. Y por ello hay muchas que desde pequeñas son sometidas a un patrón de abuso, de obedecimiento y de indoctrinación que las pretende castas, puras y calladas. Mera hipocresía de quienes predican la moral en calzones.
Les llaman “putas” a las que viven sin pudor y con arrojo. Les dicen “fáciles” a las que andan sin vergüenza y con frescura. Tildan de “cualquiera“ a las que cabalgan sin bridas y con brío.
El mes pasado se conmemoró el Día Internacional de la Trabajadora Sexual, fecha en que se recuerda la discriminación de las prostitutas y se denuncian las condiciones laborales a las que son sometidas. El 2 de junio se apartó en la historia en memoria de las más de 100 de ellas que en 1975 ocuparon la Iglesia de Saint-Nizier de Lyon, Francia, con el fin de llamar la atención a su situación.
Tengo amigas que pagaron sus carreras dedicándose al trabajo sexual. La mayoría no se arrepiente y viven orgullosas de ello. Ellas ponían sus reglas, sus límites, sus condiciones y sus salarios. Ellas decidían.
Pero ese no es el caso de todas. Y el trabajo sexual es tan digno como cualquier otro, pero es indigno el abuso, la opresión y la explotación a la que las someten quienes se aprovechan de su precariedad.
